  • EVERYONE (click to read more)
Whether you are a novice, had a previous bad experience with bread, aspiring to be able to make a good loaf of bread or have a good knowledge of bread but want to know more and increase your repertoire, there is an ideal course for you at Country Bread. Most people like to start with the Bread Fundamentals or Introduction to Artisan Bread and Basic Shaping course as these course will make you really understand the process and interaction between the ingredients. You will feel that you are in control and are very comfortable with the process. There is also the possibility of combing various breads into one course for those comfortable with breadmaking. Courses are generally held in Wakkerstroom but for some of the courses, such as Bread on Fire, I will come to you. The courses generally start at 10h00 and run through to about 16h30. All ingredients and equipment are provided and a tastey country lunch is served, in some cases provided by Village Bakery, which is owned by my wife Sue. You will also receive a set of comprehensive notes. You take home all the bread you baked on the day. Most courses are R600 per person for 1 to 6 people. There is a single supplement for only 1 person. For 7 or more people or for the more specialised ingredient courses like enriched bread, the price of the course will be supplied after discussing the breads that are to be baked and number of participants.
