About Country Bread
Wakkerstroom
Most people would agree that the smell and taste of freshly baked bread is hard to beat. I have always loved baking and eating bread. A huge disappointment though, in my early baking days, was that the bread never looked like the photo in the book! So frustrating! Thank goodness that is no longer the case.
I had the good fortune to take my bread journey to the next level in 2016. I retired early from Nedbank and moved from Johannesburg to Wakkerstroom with Sue, my wife. The city to country; banker to baker transformation has been a wonderful and rewarding experience as I am now able to share my knowledge and experience of bread baking, learnt from numerous courses and lots of trial and error.
Making artisan bread is a life changing experience so I look forward to you joining me for a day so I can show you how it’s done and get you started on your bread journey.
